Very impressive! I did one on a 5X7 piece of home-made paper (very rough), hard to get realism. So I'm guessing, the key to "ultra realism" is to make it big. Truly inspiring, my next one will be huge. Thanks...Al

thankyou very much for you kind comment!
i work small too, but i do prefere working A3 or bigger, just so i can get all the fine details.
yeah, i found that rough paper is harder to work on, gives a lovely effect, but for pieces like this one i tend to use a smoother type.
i shall watch out to see your works then :) thanks again!

Wow! That's one of the better "eye" drawings I've seen. It's incredible realistic, with the soft tones, and the detailed iris.

This is incredible. The details in the iris look so real. my only comment is that it looks a little blurry around the eye, but maybe that was intentional?

:icondandipuffs:
dandipuffs Featured By Owner Feb 21, 2009   Traditional Artist
very well spotted :) this was intentional, as on the reference photo only a few of the outside lashes where in focus, and all the rest were not. I was trying to emphasize the depth of the iris.
thankyou for your comment :D
